Host a Large Event at Stanley Park

Stanley Park is a privately funded nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving a peaceful, natural environment for all visitors. Large-scale events are carefully reviewed to ensure they align with our mission and do not negatively impact the park or guest experience.

School & Educational Group Visits

Stanley Park welcomes school groups and educational visits as a way to connect students with nature, history, and the outdoors.

Please note the following guidelines:

  • Self-Guided Visits Only: Stanley Park does not currently offer guided tours or staff-led educational programming.
  • Advance Notice Required: All school groups must notify the Park Office in advance with:
    • Date and time of visit
    • Number of students and chaperones
    • Number of buses or vehicles
  • Chaperone Responsibility: Teachers and chaperones are responsible for supervising students at all times.
  • Respect for the Park: As a private nonprofit park, we ask all groups to:
    • Stay on marked trails
    • Respect gardens, wildlife, and other visitors
    • Leave no trash behind
  • Educational Resources: We encourage teachers to:
    • Use the park map available on our website
    • Share Stanley Park videos and history with students prior to visiting
    • Utilize optional activity guides (available upon request)

Large Group or Event Reservations

What Qualifies as a Large Event?

Events that may require additional review include:

  • High attendance gatherings
  • Public events or ticketed events
  • Events with vendors, amplified sound, or temporary structures
  • Runs, walks, festivals, or large group functions

Application & Approval Process

All large events must:

  • Submit a formal application (see Large Event Application below)
  • Provide detailed plans including:
    • Site layout
    • Parking and traffic plan
    • Security and emergency plan
    • Waste management plan
    • Food/vendor details

(These requirements are outlined in Sections B–E of the application )

Approval is not guaranteed and is based on operational impact and alignment with the park’s mission.
