Do you enjoy being outdoors and helping others enjoy one of Westfield’s most beautiful places? Stanley Park is looking for seasonal, part-time Park Rangers to join our team.

Position Details:
• Pay: $16 per hour
Evening and weekend availability required
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for park visitors
• Work in a beautiful outdoor setting

Key Responsibilities

1. Visitor Safety & Support

- Maintain a safe environment for guests, visitors, and staff.

- Provide assistance and information in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.

- Enforce park rules using an educational, visitor-focused approach.

- Observe and report safety concerns, hazards, or suspicious activity.

- Assist during park events to ensure safe, orderly operations.

2. Security & Incident Response

- Patrol buildings, grounds, trails, and facilities throughout the shift.

- Secure all gates, restrooms, and facilities at posted closing times; open them at the start of the day as assigned.

- Perform a complete end-of-shift walkthrough, physically confirming that all doors, gates, restrooms, and pavilions are properly locked before leaving the park.

- Notify proper authorities (police, fire, EMS) when emergencies occur.

- Immediately notify the Managing Director regarding major incidents, serious rule violations, or locked-in vehicles.

- Complete detailed incident reports and daily shift logs.

3. Operational Duties

- Perform daily opening procedures, including gates, restrooms, Rose Garden Fountain, River Pump, Water Wheel, flag placement, and tennis court access.

- Perform daily closing procedures, including shutoffs, lock-up, and flag removal.

- Assist with park events: set up signage, tables, chairs, and other basic equipment.

- Perform minor cleanup tasks when janitorial staff is not on duty (e.g., pavilion cleaning, grills, spills, trash removal).

- Conduct visual inspection of equipment before use and report any issues immediately.

4. Equipment & Vehicle Use

- Safely operate park vehicles, including the F150 truck and John Deere Gators.

- Keep vehicles and ranger equipment neat, clean, and in good working order.

- Follow all safety rules, radio communication procedures, and traffic guidelines within the park.
