A Celtic Glow-Friday, July 29, 2011-Beveridge Pavilion-6p.m.-9p.m.
The Stanley Park of Westfield proudly presents its third annual cultural illumination. On Friday, July 29, 2011, A CELTIC GLOW will highlight the Celtic tradition, bringing to light the Irish and Scottish heritage and culture through art, music and dance. A month-long celebration culminates on our night of grand illumination featuring hand-painted Celtic lanterns which will be hung with Asian and Slavic lanterns from previous years. Local groups of youngsters will prepare painted luminary bags to line the walkways.
Internationally acclaimed, Cahal Dunne (Ireland's Happy Man), native of County Cork, Ireland will be the featured performer. Local step-dancers will participate, as well. In collaboration with Westfield State University, a Celtic art exhibit and reception will precede the grand illumination event.
